Builders Providers' Division - Moritz Trading Limited

Moritz Trading Limited is the building supplies division of Moritz Holdings.  This element of the business has expanded rapidly over the last number of years resulting in Moritz Trading Ltd establishing itself as a major player in this sector countrywide. 

In July 2005 Moritz acquired PH Ross Limited. Based on the Old Cabra Road in Dublin, PH Ross is a very successful and well respected heating & plumbing and building products supply company and supplies a large customer base in Dublin and surrounding areas. 

In April 2006 Moritz completed the acquisition of Commons Hardware Company Limited - a long established and successful builders' providers business in Navan, Co. Meath. 

T J O'Mahony & Sons Limited was acquired in March 2007. Based in Ballymount in Dublin, O'Mahonys has been in business over 50 years and has established a significant presence in the builders' providers and DIY market. Originally a timber based business the company expanded over the years to become a major supplier of the entire leading brand building products and in 2005 it opened a second branch and timber depot in county Kildare.  

In October 2007 the group signed an exclusive franchise agreement with Wickes Limited, a subsidiary of UK PLC, Travis Perkins that will see it open and operate up to 20 of its DIY and Home Improvement stores throughout Ireland from early 2008 and over the next 5 years.  The stores will be located in many of the major population centres and are expected to employ upwards of 300 people. 

Most recently, in January 2008 Moritz Trading Limited strengthened its position further, as one of Ireland’s leading builders’ providers and retail DIY suppliers by acquiring C&D Builders Providers in Wexford.  C&D Builders Providers is one of the leading suppliers of building materials, timber, DIY and garden products in the South-East region with an annual turnover in the region of €30 million. It has been operating since 1976 and currently employs 110 staff with two stores in Wexford town and one in Arklow. A countrywide presence in both the builders' providers and DIY/Home Improvement markets over the coming years.

This latest acquisition has increased the turnover of Moritz Trading Ltd. to €74 million per annum and doubled staff numbers to 200. The company continues to pursue opportunities to expand its operations. It expects turnover, excluding projected increases from future acquisitions, to exceed €200 million per annum within five years, as well as establishing a countrywide presence in both the Builders Providers and DIY/Home Improvement markets over the coming years.
